About Olivia

My name is Olivia Knight. I am 12 years old. I am a big lover of dogs. Ruby was my first dog, and my best friend. I now own another dachshund, by the name of Tex. he is a mini long-haired. I am 12 years old but have a strong personality. Dogs are a special part of me, and everyone I know knows that I love them. Ruby was the first dog I ever knew. I miss her.

Hi Olivia.  Thank you for asking about me...sometimes I get a little lost and feel like I am doing this alone, so it really means alot when someone remembers me and takes the time to say so.  I am doing ok.  I know I am getting stronger.  The grief is easier to carry, it is never going to be something I forget or want to, but I am grateful that time and friends and lots of help from others has strengthened me enough to pick it up and move forward a bit.  Gibson was my angel face....I will always wish and want to find a way to have him back....I will look for ways to keep his memory alive.  I hope his page will do that one day...as I want people to 'like' it and share their photos, stories, poems etc about their pets loss and their recovery process.  we are in untied states, ohio state...so we are on the other side of the world!!  I think it wonderful to share from both places and already I have met so many wonderful people.  And I found out that little Pelly, Kath's boy chased kangaroos...whilst my boy chased squirrels.... isn't it fun to share and learn.?  So I will be posting important messages and thoughts and quotes and videos about pets and many things about them to share.  we hope you come visit.  Gibson would be proud.  Love to you Olivia.

Hi Olivia. Thanks so much for your thoughtful message. Misho was indeed a gorgeous boy. He attracted so much attention when we'd go for walks and random people used to stop me to take photos! I'm now on a break from studying at uni, so I feel like I have more head space to grieve properly for my boy. Time is helping. Thank you for thinking of me.

Thanks for your kinda words about razz :) he was a great lil guy. Ruby sounded like a wonderful pup-full of character and clearly loved by everyone. Losing a pet is one of the hardest things you go through I reckon eh. You should go for your dream of becoming a vet. Definitely sad part of it I have found but so rewarding at the same time. I have 5 months to go until I'm graduated and I can't wait! Try and get some work experience at your local vet clinic to see how you like it (and don't worry/let it put you off if at any stage you feel dizzy or faint whilst there cos trust it happens to everyone at some stage :P) If at any stage you want any info about anything give us a msg :) always happy to help. You should also look into volunteering at a shelter or something as a dog walker-i did that when i was younger and LOVED it (though always wanted to bring so many of the dogs home) Hope your more recent lil dachshundm Tex is going well :) take care
